Parking Locator - Solution

The Universal Parking Locator overcomes the three major challenges in networking parking spaces.

  • Battery powered- The UPL has been designed from the ground up to be battery powered, although it can use AC power where available, rewiring a whole city just for this purpose is ridiculous.
  • Long service life-The UPL has an effective service life of 10 to 20 years, depending on the type of battery that's installed; some of Miltel's toughest installations of have been working for over 10 years without failure.
  • Wireless-if the challenges of retrofitting a city to provide electrical power are large, the very idea of networking the sensors with wires is simply ludicrous.

How it works

Sensors: The Universal Parking Locator can use a variety of sensors within the same deployment to ensure the best results.  For example, volumetric or optical sensors might provide the best information within a parking structure, while giant magneto-resistance sensors are probably best suited to street and open-lot parking.  No matter what the sensor used, or the kind of information it outputs (analog, digital), Miltel's UPL can capture and transport all these data and deliver them to the information network where they can be put to good use.

Transmitters:  Miltel TRU transmitters.  One or two-way radio.  Effective service life of 10 to 20 years.  IP-68 (immersion protection) compliant.
